So, you're interested in joining Keystone Spire and have a few questions? Hopefully we have your answers!
Q: What requirements are needed to get a costume cleared?
A: If you have a costume that is already cleared with another Star Wars club, your costume falls under our "NO FUSS" approval, meaning there is no clearance requirement. We honor all pre-approved character costumes, so you are welcome to wear it at any of our events. Simple!
Q: Do you have certain standards? Do you follow the 501st, Rebel Legion or Mandalorian Mercs CRL's?
A: We are an open format costume club, which means our standards are more relaxed. We do not have extreme criteria when building costumes, but we do have general guidelines that will need to be followed.
Flexibility and creativity allow you to choose a variety of construction materials to get the results you want from your character build.
We understand the process can be time consuming and expensive, but the focus should be on having fun.
So long as the costume is recognizable, functional and looks like it belongs in the Star Wars universe, you can create it.
New costumes will require you to submit photos for review before you are cleared for troop at events.
Q: I want to customize my "NO FUSS" Spire approved costume and create something unique. Can I do that?
A: Of course you can. Keep in mind that your "NO FUSS" approval is cleared in another club, so you will want to be sure that your creative adjustments to not void your membership elsewhere.
Once all adjustments are made, please notify us so we can take a look.
Q: What if I want to create my own custom character?
A: You absolutely can. In fact, we encourage it.
So long as it looks "in world" and can be recognized as a costume from the galaxy far, far away, it will be welcomed within the Spire.
Q: I've completed my costume, what's next?
A: Gather your pictures on a photo hosting site such as Flickr, Google Drive, Dropbox etc. Once all your photos are uploaded, send an email to:
KeystoneSpire@gmail.com.
Please include front, back, sides, action and a helmet off photo if your character is wearing one.
Our Council members will review your application and vote.
If it gets the green light, you will become an official resident of Keystone Spire, and your costume is cleared to wear at events.
